Broward County

Marketing for Broward County businesses.

Broward runs from the Atlantic beaches to the Everglades levee as one continuous grid of cities, and the customer calling you rarely knows which one they are standing in. CoPilot Marketing builds the Google Ads, Local Services Ads, Meta campaigns, review management and CRM follow-up around that, for the trades, practices and firms selling into the county.

Quick Answer

Broward County is a continuous grid of municipalities running from the Atlantic beaches west to the Everglades levee, with Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International and the New River marine trades anchoring its commercial side. CoPilot Marketing covers Broward as a service-area business, running Google Ads, Local Services Ads, Meta, reviews and CRM follow-up.

The Broward County market.

Broward was built in bands running west. The ocean side holds the oldest housing and the Intracoastal condo stock, the central cities carry single-family blocks from the 1960s and 1970s, and everything past University Drive and the Turnpike is master-planned HOA and townhome development that runs until it reaches the Everglades levee, where building stops and conservation land begins. The commercial weight sits in three places: Port Everglades, with cruise terminals, container yards and the petroleum berths that fuel much of South Florida, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International alongside it, and the marine trade spread along the New River, Marina Mile and the Dania Cutoff Canal, where refit yards, riggers, canvas shops, brokers and crew agencies work to haul-out dates rather than a retail calendar. Behind all of that the demand is ordinary household demand, year-round rather than seasonal, a large share of it inside HOA and 55+ communities. Haitian Creole is an everyday language of business through Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, North Lauderdale and parts of Miramar, and Spanish is routine across the southwest cities. One practical detail costs outside advertisers money: almost every acre of Broward sits inside a municipality, and much of the county shares a single numbered street grid, so the same numbered street crosses several city lines and an address read out over the phone tells you very little about which city you are being sent to.

What drives demand here

Storm season here is a county-wide sequence rather than one spike, and it starts at the water. Port Everglades steps up its condition levels and eventually closes, which halts cruise turnarounds, holds fuel and container movement, and pushes everything that was scheduled into a backlog that has to clear afterwards. The yards on the New River and the Dania Cutoff Canal fill first, because boats have to be hauled, stripped of canvas and sails, moved upriver or tied down properly, and that work is booked while the track is still uncertain rather than after landfall. Inland, flatness decides the rest: Broward drains through canals and pumps instead of slope, so a slow system parked over the middle of the county leaves standing water, then a week of water intrusion, mold and drying calls on streets that never saw a serious gust. Fuel is the quiet second wave, since a closed port empties stations well inland and sends generator, delivery and mobile service searches up on their own timetable. Away from weather, seasonal residents and cruise volume build from October, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show at the end of that month hands the marine trades and their suppliers their heaviest weeks, and the visitor side thins out by May. August is the other dependable surge: one school district covers the whole county on one calendar, so pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, sports physicals, tutoring, after-school programs and family medical searches all land in the same fortnight everywhere at once.

What you are up against

Start with what city names do to an account here. Broward's municipalities run into one another with no gap, no signage and no change in the housing on either side of the line, so city-name keywords sort demand differently than they do in Miami-Dade, where large unincorporated areas carry names people use without a city behind them. Searchers here reach for whichever name they associate with their mail or their kids' school, a fair number of them wrong, and several of the smallest municipalities generate almost no query volume while the addresses inside them buy plenty. A mileage radius fails from the other side, paying for cities you would refuse at five in the afternoon on I-95 or I-595. The advertisers you are up against follow the same logic: roofing, restoration, injury, dental and real estate money set wide from both ends of the county and from out of state, with out-of-area restoration piling in after a storm. What actually holds cost per booked job down is geography built from ZIP codes and drive time instead of city names, campaigns split along the corridors people really use, and a phone answered while the click is still live.

Broward County questions.

We bid on our own city name and the calls do not match it. Why does city targeting misfire in Broward?+

Because the lines are invisible on the ground. A street crosses from one municipality into the next with no change in the houses, and people name whichever city they associate with their mail, their school or the nearest big road. Some of them name it wrong. Target ZIP codes and drive-time areas, then let booked jobs redraw the edges.

We service the whole county. Is a county-wide radius the right way to set that up?+

A ring that covers Broward looks reasonable on a map and is unreasonable at four in the afternoon. The county moves east and west on I-595, Sunrise and Atlantic, north and south on I-95 and the Turnpike, so run those as separate campaigns rather than one radius, and cut any ZIP where the drive eats the job.
